As the creative director for Glas Italia, Piero Lissoni commands significant influence over the brand’s direction. It’s appropriate that his latest design is called the Commodore, making reference to both Glas Italia’s design “captain” and also the product’s function as a storage commode. Winner of Salone del Mobile’s 2016 “Best Product” award in the Furnishing Systems category, the Commodore collection is defined by its elegant yet startling simple design. The various planes of the cabinet are made of checked printed glass, tempered and glued 45° angles with mirror lacquer details. The unit has no handles, only small circular openings which one can use to slide the doors open and closed.
