LAMELLA Hallgeir Homstvedt & Jonah Takagi Airy and lightweight, Lamella was specifically inspired by the delicate pleats on the underside of mushroom caps, which are also commonly known as lamella—and while not the most obvious inspiration for a suspension lamp, the result is simply beautiful. Produced by 75-year-old design manufacturer Le Klint, the pleated lampshade—the brand’s signature— is a unique handicraft that is only mastered at Le Klint’s original Pleating Studio in Odense, Denmark. To become a skilled pleating technician at Le Klint takes approximately three years, and most of the artisans in the pleating studio have been with the company for more than 25 years. In the Petal dining chair, we find the most advanced 3D-molded wood veneer chair ever put into commercial production.
