During NYCxDESIGN, SUITE NY and C SUITE partnered with VERPAN to present VERPAN POP(up), a weeklong installation capped off with an evening cocktail event celebrating the work of Danish designer Verner Panton. The showroom transformed into an immersive tribute to Panton’s playful and provocative spirit, showcasing a curated selection of lighting, furniture, and accessories. The event brought together designers, editors, and clients for an evening of design, conversation, and connection.

Verner Panton’s approach to design was anything but static and that was reflected in our installation. The sculptural Flying Chair hovered playfully above the showroom floor, while System 1-2-3 dining chairs anchored the space with their sensuous, cantilevered forms. In the background, our signature chair wall created a visual dialogue with Panton’s legacy, illustrating how seamlessly these forward-thinking designs can integrate with more traditional pieces.

A quiet moment was captured before the evening cocktail event with the teams behind SUITE NY, C SUITE, and VERPAN, seated on Panton’s iconic Cloverleaf Sofa. VERPAN CEO David Obel Rosenkvist and Sales Manager Natalie Jerichau joined us in welcoming guests and marking the first NYC showroom installation of this scale for the brand.

Throughout the evening and week, the various Cloverleaf Sofa configurations proved more than just a visual centerpiece. Guests gathered, lounged, and lingered, exactly as Panton intended when he designed the modular system to foster conversation and community. 

With its round shape and layered design, the Easy Sofa stands out as one of the most visually distinctive pieces of the Verner Panton design catalogue. The Easy Sofa brought Panton’s signature softness to the forefront, combining sculptural geometry with a casual, approachable presence. Easy Sofa is part of the Easy collection which also includes Easy Chair and Easy Pouf.

Many regard the Fun collection as one of Verner Panton’s greatest masterpieces in the field of lighting design. Since 1964, this XL hanging lamp has kindled joy and a wealth of stories. As guests mingled under the shimmering Fun Pendant, the atmosphere was unmistakably Panton: bold, joyful, and full of personality. We thank everyone who joined us to celebrate and invite those who couldn’t make it to stop by the showroom, where many of the featured pieces remain on view.
