The materiality of stone is both ancient and immediate, formed over millennia, yet grounding even the most contemporary interiors with a sense of presence. This week, we explore five tables crafted in natural stone, each selected for its unique expression of texture, color, and character. From richly veined marble to calcareous travertine, these designs reveal the quiet drama embedded in the geological world.

M TABLE
Angelo Mangiarotti
Simple in geometry, complex in material, the M Table in travertine draws inspiration from architect Angelo Mangiarotti’s belief in structural clarity. Its monolithic silhouette highlights the stone’s warm, tactile surface, with natural fissures and variation that reinforce its architectural gravitas. Designed without joints or screws, the top is supported entirely by the column, relying on gravity alone.
PK61A
Poul Kjærholm

Poul Kjærholm’s PK61A table is a study in contrasts: industrial precision paired with natural irregularity. The honed marble top, offered in a range of stone types including Nero Marquina and Grey-brown marble, rests lightly on a brushed stainless steel base. Square, low, and iconic, it brings a sculptural equilibrium to both modern and traditional interiors.

DORIC
GamFratesi

The Doric Table by GamFratesi reinterprets ancient Greek architectural elements through a contemporary lens. Carved from solid limestone, its fluted legs reference classical columns, while the smooth tabletop keeps the profile grounded in the present. Substantial without feeling heavy, it brings historical nuance to curated spaces. Also available in travertine.

SVEN
Mats Theselius
Designed by Mats Theselius, the Sven table balances raw and refined. Its circular top in limestone or quartzite rests on a clean-lined chromed or coppered steel base, creating a composition where material contrast takes the lead. Each piece is made in Sweden and features subtle variations in veining and tone, making every table unique.

LUST
Entrelacs

Designed and crafted in France, the Lust Console Table reverses expectations with a solid base of Calacatta Oro marble supporting a hand-cast bronze tabletop. The rich, warm veining of the marble grounds the piece, while the bronze surface brings a soft metallic luster that reflects light and detail. Made at Fonderie d’Art Macheret, the table exemplifies Entrelacs’ commitment to traditional French craftsmanship and the expressive potential of elemental materials.
