The Pelle chair is a fusion of Italian craftsmanship and Scandinavian design principles, seamlessly blending tradition with modern innovation. Named after the Italian word for “pelt” or “leather,” and inspired by the character Pelle from Astrid Lindgren’s Vacation of Scarecrow Island, this chair is a tribute to both cultures’ rich histories and their distinctive approaches to design.
With a semi-circular backrest and elegantly sweeping armrests, Pelle evokes the understated elegance of Scandinavian design classics. The structure is intentionally minimal, highlighting the organic form and functionality typical of the region’s design legacy. The seat, however, breaks from convention—suspended freely and crafted from premium saddle leather. Its unique leather-bound aluminum inlay offers a sleek, modern contrast to the chair's organic form, pushing the boundaries of materiality and design.
