Lily™
Arne Jacobsen designed many chair models in laminated wood which, despite their common features, all have a character of their own. In 1968, the 3108 chair was introduced. It is also known as the Lily Chair or the Series 8™ Chair and was originally designed for the Danish National Bank. The curvy chair with its characteristic wide shoulders and slim waist is a beautiful example of how Arne Jacobsen constantly kept exploring and challenging the possibilities of veneer. Two years after the introduction of model 3108, the model 3208 was introduced equipped with armrests and is one of the two chairs in Arne Jacobsen's collection of laminated chairs that has armrests. It also became one of Arne Jacobsen's most sublime works. The Lily™, which it is also called, was reintroduced in 2007, slightly larger than the original.
