Slatted Stacking Tables
Originally designed by Mel Smilow in 1950 and officially reintroduced in 2016 by his daughter, Judy Smilow, the Slatted Stacking Tables are a prime example of handcrafted wooden furniture. The tapered legs are classically midcentury and allow for easy stacking and storage. The walnut slats fit seamlessly into the frame, forming the top, which functions as both a tabletop and a seat. Standing alone, a single table is a perfect place to set down a cup of tea, and with a cushion, it becomes functional additional seating. When stacked, the walnut slats create a gridlock pattern and the silhouette of the 3 tables becomes a work of art.
