Hans J. Wegner designed the Wishbone Chair in 1949. To celebrate Wegner's enduring legacy and more than 70 years of collaboration with Carl Hansen & Søn, London-based designer and creative Ilse Crawford has been invited to develop a color palette of 9 matte colors to give the chair a new perspective.

The 9 picturesque colors celebrate plants, minerals, and the soil that make up the raw beauty of the Nordic landscape. The 9 new colors will be released one-by-one, separately each month from March until December 2022—the chair will not be in market until the specific month of it’s launch, adding to the exclusivity and excitement behind each individual variant. Crawford explains:“Reinterpreting Wegner is a huge honor, and we’ve been very careful to respect the entire process; the forms are so wonderful, but we wanted to give these chairs an even more sensual expression, one that is both timeless and timely."
